The Access Surf team will also provide in-depth guidance on transfer team protocols, ensuring we’re well-versed in safely assisting participants with varying mobility needs.

OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort and Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy are thrilled to present the First Responder and Military Honolua Classic, an exclusive surf competition honoring Maui's first responders and military personnel. This invitation-only event will be held at the iconic Honolua Bay during the optimal surf window from December 15, 2024, to January 10, 2025, with the exact date announced 72 hours in advance.

A Purposeful Event with a Heart for Maui
Organized by world champion waterman Zane Schweitzer and Maui Coast Guard Officer Dylan McCall, the Honolua Classic celebrates those who protect and serve our community while raising critical funds for the Lahaina Junior Lifeguard Program and the Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy. These organizations are committed to cultivating the next generation of ocean safety experts and fostering youth ocean stewardship across Maui.

Zane Schweitzer, born and raised in Lahaina, has dedicated his life to ocean sports and mentoring Maui’s youth through his Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy, which integrates surf instruction with mental health and environmental stewardship.
